Traveling as a widowed senior can be fun!

Traveling as a widowed senior can be fun!

I looked in the mirror recently and wondered who that grey-haired old lady was looking at me. When did I grow old?  I sometimes despair over my body – the wrinkles, the sagging butt. And I am shocked when I look in the mirror and see my grandmother, whom I called Mom Mom, looking back at me.

But there’s good news!

Life is too short to sit and wait for the right time to travel. Get out of your comfort zone. You will never know what wonderful friends and opportunities are just around the the corner.  Be happy and embrace being single. You are now free to be you. It can be a little scary, but just think of the alternative.

As a widow and a senior I found that cruise travel gave me the security, confidence, and friends that I needed to step out of my box and travel alone.

It is your choice to be  lonely.

Traveling by cruise ship you always have new adventures to tell your friends and family.  Be the center of attention at your next party.  Your grandchildren will think it is great to show a picture to their classmates of grandma riding a camel in Egypt or zip-lining in Alaska. You, too, will be saying: Who is this person singing and dancing to the oldies? Its me! I am happy to be me and I am not lonely any more.

Peace of Mind: Priceless
