The US Department of State has announced that by December 15, 2015, extra passport pages will no longer be added to existing passports; you will have to renew them. (To my knowledge, at this time no other country allows blank pages to be added to passports.) The good news is that instead of having 28 pages, the renewed passports will have 52 pages.
Travelers who wish to add passport pages can add 48 pages for $85.00. It takes around 6 weeks. Or you can renew your passport for $110.00. If this is your first passport the cost is $135.00. Rates are subject to change.
