Did the NCL do the right thing?

There was a sad story in the news recently about a little boy whose family tried to cancel their cruise when they discovered that he had a large malignant tumor. The family is angry with NCL because they feel that an exception should be made with their cancellation policy for their son’s illness.

Stories like this serve as a reminder of how important it is to purchase appropriate travel insurance. Hopefully you won’t need it, and it’s up to you whether or not you feel it’s worth the investment. Without it, however, you are at the mercy of the cruise line, and whether they will hold you to the contract that you signed IF an emergency arises.
