A popular tourist destination in India bans kissing!

Sara Raney, Travel Concierge

If India is on your bucket list of countries to visit, be aware that in March, 2015, an indian village in the state of GOA  passed a law banning  kissing in public. According to the locals, public displays of affection are “obscene” and “indecent.” They have also banned drinking , smoking and loud music. As a non-smoker, occasional drinker, and a lover of peace and quiet, I have to admit that I wish some of these laws were here as well.

Before you travel, it’s important to know the cultures and customs of the countries you are going to visit, and respect their laws. Many tourists get locked up in prisons in other countries for just being – in one word – “stupid.’

If you plan to travel to an unfamiliar country, I highly recommended that you speak with a professional travel consultant who can inform you about things you should know. (I have traveled to over 100 countries and all seven continents and have not had any trouble, even in countries where women traditionally do not travel  alone.)

Peace of mind: priceless!
